Eat Natural

I bet you guys know how I love Muesli by lingering this blog. As a super-hectic person (oh, this sounds exaggerated :P), quick-yummy-healthy breakfast is such a treasure. Days ago, when I went to buy chicken breast and other ingredients for dinner, I passed black boxes that made me stopped by. I know myself finding boxes with various Muesli kind of inside is always make me feel happy. Sadly, that day I had small money inside my wallet. I tried to manage with what I had (I always hate that!). I took one box and read what is inside. I just read and dropped it back beside another boxes that contain vary ingredients in each of them.

This sounds funny, two days ago I got small extra money from an event I did from Saturday night until half of Sunday noon. So after worked, I went back to find another ingredients for dinner (it was for making dinner to welcome my new flatmate that came from Indonesia, he’s my previous flatmate’s friend and we’ll work together here :)), I did not need to think twice to grab one box of Eat Natural, plus yogurt and fresh cherries. $18 wasn’t bad right to change my ‘I-worked-until-half-of-my-Sunday-gone’  last week. Hope you guys can imagine how this heavenly breakfast taste. A mix of sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, linseeds, toasted ryecrumbs, oats, coconut, almonds and hazelnuts, plus yogurt, strawberry, cherries, and extra almonds just made me die.

I think I found another ‘you-guys-must-try’, :)).

P.S. Are you wondering why the last picture above has different background? That was an impromptu shoot after I changed the background for my Instagram post, my flatmate helped me to snap my morning scene including my hands pose :P.

Fancy Monday Breakfast

Nah for the title? Sounds cheesy? Pardon for that :P.

Here, I just wanted to share what I had this morning as my breakfast. I’ve been craved to have king prawns on my plate and I came out with a simple idea to cook them. What I did just boiled whole grain thin spaghetti, home-made tomato sauce from fresh tomatoes and a bit of tomato paste (for sure, it had a basic spice as well, red onion, garlic, ground white pepper and a pinch of salt). Quick grilled king prawns with O-Oil 10 second and put on top of the spaghetti (you can season it with a pinch of salt and pepper and do not forget to pour O-oil :)), as easy as that.

Oh please note, I couldn’t eat 1 kg that contains +/- six pieces of king prawns in one time. I just cooked the rest for my dinner, I chopped them and added into my stir-fried sausage and scrambled egg in oyster sauce.

Morning Festives

On my previous post I’ve mentioned when I had two days without proper food was so hellish for me, truly. When I was in the middle of that kind ‘day-and-night’ work, my mind took a second thinking about proper food as a revenge, particularly veggies and fruits. After that day, I decided to have my first strawberry and avocado salad as my breakfast (added kiwi wasn’t my idea before yet I love to see them in my bowl :)). It was very simple salad, O-oil plus lemon was my dressing. You guys who followed me in Instagram (or if you’re reader of this blog :P), I bet you’ve seen my iPhone version before.

Here, I gather breakfasts with colors that I’d snapped from different days (because in this era, taking pictures of your food before you enjoy them is a must, lol :P). Oh I know, I know, you’ll find another shot of my Muesli here :P.

I’ll drop some of the facts from these pictures :)

> The first one is my fav, I love the color coordination. The green of the broccoli was so perfect. I drank my water before that avocado juice, why? because my fettuccine carbonara was so creamy :P

> I bought purple cabbage (picture number two) just because I loved to try them for my salad. I used it twice for my salad and ignored it after. It sounds like I bought for picture-purpose :P

> It was my first time I ate beetroot :P. I was wondering how it taste since until I took some and mesmerised with the color. Maybe I’ll try it better for fresh juice than for salad yet I did love the texture of beetroot.

> That tomato soup was too hot for breakfast. I thought it would be tastier when I added chopped Habanero pepper into it. When I was tasting my soup and found my tongue was burning, I took those pepper immediately and throw them away :P

> Strawberry and avocado such a fresh combination for salad. If you want to try them as your breakfast, you should find sweet strawberry. I had very fresh yet so sour that morning.

> I always keep my food balance. I must have fruits and veggies every week, I enjoy cakes and pastries with limit for sure. I enjoy fried food as long as it isn’t deep-fried. If I don’t have a choice to eat healthy food but junk food, I always try to have lemon in water. That’s why you always see lemon in my pictures :)

I think we should enjoy life with good food as long as it’s good for your happiness. I know you are what you eat, but by enjoying good-tasty-healthy food is happiness, amirite? :)

Chic’ Lemon

There are three reasons why I love this simply chic’ recipe for my lunch :). One is because the ingredients are fresh. Two, healthier way to cook, baking!. And the last is yes, it is easy to cook this food. You just need to put all the ingredients and bake in the oven. All you need for one serving are :

150 gr chicken fillet | 2 medium garlic cloves | 1 medium tomato | 1/4 red onion (I had big onion, if you have small ones, you can use probably 3 cloves), slices of white onion, three pcs of red pepper, 3 slices of fresh lemon, 3 coriander leaves, 2 tbs O-oil (put more if you want! :)), spices : 1 tsp chilli sauce, pinch of salt and ground black pepper.

Just put all of them on a sheet of aluminium foil, wrap neatly and bake for 25 minutes. I ate this Chic’ Lemon with basmati rice that noon. A glass of cold spring water was enough for a compliment of this spicy-fresh lunch.

Happy Friday! (I HAVE-TO enjoy my Sat and Sunday before hellish-next-week! Uh.)

On My Table

If you wonder why I love taking picture of my food from top is just because I love to see them arranged fully on my table. I love to see how I put them on the table irregulary, and do a little placement. Sometimes, when I order food in the restaurant, I love to see them scatter on the table. Just like these pics here, when I had time for Sunday lunch with my friends last month, I stopped them for seconds just after the waiter dropped our food. Took my chair and stand on it, took my mirrorless and iPhone, and snapped (its easy to find which and which, amirite?). I dunno, its terrible sometimes, tho.

But I never tire to do this :) (who started #onmytable hastag in instagram guys? you know? :))

Pretties This Morning

Oh well, I should enjoy my off (Easter) day (only today! :|) yet I just finished my homeworks right now. Gah!. Here, just a short post of my breakfast this morning. Aw, I had pretty colors in my bowl! (I could eat them everyday, you guys? no? :)).

P.S. I have so many works for a rough week ahead, so probably I’ll rest from blogging for days, and….I already thought for a revenge for delish food after all.

Yesterday Me Time

What I love from Sunday is ‘me-time’. Yesterday, I was stayed at home and enjoyed food I love.

Morning, I love the fact that time went so much slower than my daily morning. A bowl of Muesli was perfect. Really. Fresh sliced banana, blackberries, strawberries served with mango yogurt was beyond awesome (I could have breakfast like that everyday!).

Afternoon, woke up from three hours napping. I did need something simply for lunch. Just noodles served with homemade chicken broth, lotta O-oil, raw spinach and boiled egg. Raw pepper and garlic was uh. I felt enough.

Then, late afternoon, it was a simply snack time. A little bit upside down enjoying smoothie not as breakfast but I didn’t think that way cause for me, having smoothie is always perfect. In every time, no?. When I looked at the texture of frozen banana, blackberries, strawberries and yogurt blended together, I just fell in love. I could ask more for a full glass of heaven, definitely.

Pics here are taken both with an iPhone and mirrorless, could you guess which?

Sweet Impromptu

If you ever seen these sweets on my Instagram, pardon for this mirrorless version. It was just an impromptu shoot from five-sec’s-random-arrangement of mini cupcakes and scones. It wasn’t my style capturing food on top of a colorful table linen yet I love to see something little different on this post.

P.S. These sweets were part of the food for my flatmate’s farewell party held on 28th March in our office. It was so sad to say bye to him. He’s gone already :(.

Had Spring of Joy This Morning

Confession number one : I’ve spread my thirst in the air that I always miss Bakso when since I lived here.

Number two : I thanked God I had Bakso for my breakfast this morning. I did!.

Confession number three : The meat balls you see on this post, I didn’t cook them. My other flat mate brought them from someone in The Indonesian Embassy, here. He gave me some two days ago when I cooked meals for dinner. I dropped and left them inside freezer. I had no idea to cook Bakso until I cooked the soup last night and it became my breakfast this morning.

Confession number four : This Bakso wasn’t authentic. I tweaked it already. I cooked the soup from chicken broth and plenty garlic (I’m a garlic lover :P), without leak and MSG :P. Yes, the soup was spiced just with salt and white pepper. Instead of rice vermicelli and yellow noodle, I added pasta and instant noodle, oh broccoli as well (I fell in love with broccoli as snack lately, I’m not trying to sound lavish though, apart of the health benefit, I love the texture and the taste :) *the price of broccoli here is fuc*in’ high!*). I poured lotta O oil, too. It was totally out of the real Bakso yet I wont lie to you guys, after I added soy sauce, chilli sauce, tomato sauce and for sure ‘sambal’, the taste was so damn delish!. You hear me? D E L I S H (!!).

Fifth confession : When I was preparing this shot, I moved front and back from my kitchen to my room, six times!, (I shot my food from my room, I depend a lot from natural morning light!) to prepare this food arrangement, with camera and iPhone in my both hands. Oh truly, it wasn’t easy when I had to rush to find angles, proportions, focus, in short time. Many times I looked at my wrist watch to make sure I didn’t waste time to snap, to enjoy and ready to go to office. I had only 30 minutes to do all of that. Eek. When I was enjoying this Bakso after snapped it, I was sweating because (1) I did a little exercise preparing this shot, (2) the ‘sambal’ was so-damn-spicilicious made this Bakso ‘nendang-banget’ (<–find that word in English *trivia* lol) in my mouth :P.

Confession number six : I forgot the lime :P, I should include it on these pics. I already had an idea to snap Bakso again, more authentic with tofu and rice vermicelli, with different table setting, look and feel. I think not only that, I bet you guys are boring with my props, I should get another new ones. Amiright? (I’m looking at my wallet and fainting :P).

Hope you guys enjoy these pics!

Offdays!

Had two days off (really off) was gratified!. Yippie last week I had full weekend off which was quite rare for me (for entire office actually :P). By the time I heard the announcement for two days off I had some plans I would like to do. On Saturday I still went to the office to do something for two hours, then I went to one mall here where we just opened our new flower shop (new branch!). Spending time from 11am until 8pm there was quite bored (really, I couldn’t work inside mall, you know why? I found a beautiful navy blue and brown canvas shoulder bag! and a cute simple wrist watch in brown, both are Fossil! Oh dear, thank God I didn’t spend money. Even though I still thinking about them :P). So here some snaps from last week. I hope I do not make you h(angry) :P.

Wheat croissant and strawberry syrup was my breakfast on Saturday (captured in my office :P). The syrup I made from slices of strawberry, lemon juice (fresh lemon!!), and sugar (little!). I putted in a cup and baked for 3o minutes.I decided to stay at home for Sunday. First, I had plenty things to do (mostly for housemaid-works *fiuh!*), second, I had to control my expenses. Third, I could cook meals for whole day (for this blog as well :P).

Offdays1

Offdays2

Offdays3

Late breakfast for Sunday was Basmati brown rice, rolled omelet, sweet stir-fried veggies (carrots and broccoli), and crispy fried chicken breast. Oh I cooked ‘sambal Terasi’ a.k.a ‘shrimp cake’ as well (on top of the brown rice). If you follow me in Instagram, I’ve posted this meal from my iPhone. But here, I will share closer view of how it looked so you have an idea how it taste :).

In the afternoon I made snack from Nutella and banana. Just thin pancake (or crepes?) and I spread Nutella, slices of banana, choco chips, hazelnut, and sprinkle of coffee. For that heavenly full chocolate snack kind of, I couldn’t take more than one :P.
