Goofydreamer2thBday

Yay! Goofydreamer is two years old! I officially decided 30th March is when this blog was born. I started this blog on March 2012 and had a long vacuum period until I was activated again on August 2012. Time flies. This blog has become my personal room to share stories of mine, food I love, and my indulgence in photography. I will always try to maintain the contents and the quality for years ahead and I’ll keep sharing with you guys!

Tons of thanks for whoever that followed Goofydreamer along, for his readers as well :)) For you guys who have thoughts in food and photography, love to share something with me, I’d like to hear from you! Let’s make friend! :))

Had Spring of Joy This Morning

Confession number one : I’ve spread my thirst in the air that I always miss Bakso when since I lived here.

Number two : I thanked God I had Bakso for my breakfast this morning. I did!.

Confession number three : The meat balls you see on this post, I didn’t cook them. My other flat mate brought them from someone in The Indonesian Embassy, here. He gave me some two days ago when I cooked meals for dinner. I dropped and left them inside freezer. I had no idea to cook Bakso until I cooked the soup last night and it became my breakfast this morning.

Confession number four : This Bakso wasn’t authentic. I tweaked it already. I cooked the soup from chicken broth and plenty garlic (I’m a garlic lover :P), without leak and MSG :P. Yes, the soup was spiced just with salt and white pepper. Instead of rice vermicelli and yellow noodle, I added pasta and instant noodle, oh broccoli as well (I fell in love with broccoli as snack lately, I’m not trying to sound lavish though, apart of the health benefit, I love the texture and the taste :) *the price of broccoli here is fuc*in’ high!*). I poured lotta O oil, too. It was totally out of the real Bakso yet I wont lie to you guys, after I added soy sauce, chilli sauce, tomato sauce and for sure ‘sambal’, the taste was so damn delish!. You hear me? D E L I S H (!!).

Fifth confession : When I was preparing this shot, I moved front and back from my kitchen to my room, six times!, (I shot my food from my room, I depend a lot from natural morning light!) to prepare this food arrangement, with camera and iPhone in my both hands. Oh truly, it wasn’t easy when I had to rush to find angles, proportions, focus, in short time. Many times I looked at my wrist watch to make sure I didn’t waste time to snap, to enjoy and ready to go to office. I had only 30 minutes to do all of that. Eek. When I was enjoying this Bakso after snapped it, I was sweating because (1) I did a little exercise preparing this shot, (2) the ‘sambal’ was so-damn-spicilicious made this Bakso ‘nendang-banget’ (<–find that word in English *trivia* lol) in my mouth :P.

Confession number six : I forgot the lime :P, I should include it on these pics. I already had an idea to snap Bakso again, more authentic with tofu and rice vermicelli, with different table setting, look and feel. I think not only that, I bet you guys are boring with my props, I should get another new ones. Amiright? (I’m looking at my wallet and fainting :P).

Hope you guys enjoy these pics!

Offdays!

Had two days off (really off) was gratified!. Yippie last week I had full weekend off which was quite rare for me (for entire office actually :P). By the time I heard the announcement for two days off I had some plans I would like to do. On Saturday I still went to the office to do something for two hours, then I went to one mall here where we just opened our new flower shop (new branch!). Spending time from 11am until 8pm there was quite bored (really, I couldn’t work inside mall, you know why? I found a beautiful navy blue and brown canvas shoulder bag! and a cute simple wrist watch in brown, both are Fossil! Oh dear, thank God I didn’t spend money. Even though I still thinking about them :P). So here some snaps from last week. I hope I do not make you h(angry) :P.

Wheat croissant and strawberry syrup was my breakfast on Saturday (captured in my office :P). The syrup I made from slices of strawberry, lemon juice (fresh lemon!!), and sugar (little!). I putted in a cup and baked for 3o minutes.I decided to stay at home for Sunday. First, I had plenty things to do (mostly for housemaid-works *fiuh!*), second, I had to control my expenses. Third, I could cook meals for whole day (for this blog as well :P).

Late breakfast for Sunday was Basmati brown rice, rolled omelet, sweet stir-fried veggies (carrots and broccoli), and crispy fried chicken breast. Oh I cooked ‘sambal Terasi’ a.k.a ‘shrimp cake’ as well (on top of the brown rice). If you follow me in Instagram, I’ve posted this meal from my iPhone. But here, I will share closer view of how it looked so you have an idea how it taste :).

In the afternoon I made snack from Nutella and banana. Just thin pancake (or crepes?) and I spread Nutella, slices of banana, choco chips, hazelnut, and sprinkle of coffee. For that heavenly full chocolate snack kind of, I couldn’t take more than one :P.

After all, lemon in water was the one I needed :)

Before I had an idea to post this, I was editing some pictures for food-lodge-upcoming post. Nevertheless I found difficulties editing some of them, it means that I have to postpone for a while and try to find inspiration again to present those pictures like what I had in mind. This is just a post how I remind my first iPhone.

Before I used an iPhone, I had Sony Xperia Acro-S that just couple months I left it. I bought it just because I was fooled-mesmerized with the features on the ads especially the waterproof thing. I found myself wasn’t happy with the camera until I realized one thing ; I had no doubt and regret to get an iPhone5 a.k.a my casual camera after all. I’ve enjoyed my first iPhone especially the clearness of its camera then until the last day of 2013, my heart was broken after my iPhone accidentally fell down from 5 feet high. I couldn’t believe what was going on just a second after I tried to capture my wrist watch with an iPhone on my right hand. I thought playing with natural light was good enough just because the afternoon light was clear and bright. Sadly when I was trying to straighten my left hand precisely with the grid on iPhone’s camera, my right hand was slighty shaking and boom, an iPhone laid on the ground immediately. Oh dear God, I couldn’t believe what I saw that day, the screen cracked by pieces.

Hey you! Because of you :(
Hey you! Because of you :(

The function itself is still works yet sadly the price to change the screen only quite costly here. Afterwards I decided to get new one I’m using right now even my flatmate mocked me why I chose the same phone (oh even the new one has double GB memory. 64!) rather than the 5s. I answered that I couldn’t spend ridiculously $400 extra for 32GB of 5s after my own fault? Absolutely such a wise decision I made even yeah I know, 5s’s camera is something else but I mean, why I have to spend so much from my saving money after I made a fault?. Sigh.

O I think I talked too much. I never mind to share this stupid moment here though so lets back to the point. I’ve posted pictures quite many captured with an iPhone, but on this post named ‘iTrace’ I would like to share some of my favorite shots I took randomly three days before bye-bye-iPhone5-moment. This shows a little side of my indulgence in mobile-photography. The last one is one of my fav picture from my 64GB I took on 3rd of January.

Simply Little Things

This year my kind mates here, Gozie and Rufina brought me some cuties from where they were travelled to. When Gozie had to travel to NYC for her side-duty helping her sister’s wedding preparation (it had been done! :)) congrats to her sister, Ngozi!), my spirit said that “Goz, magneetts!”. Yikes, sounds cheesy yet I know how generous Gozie is to me :). I was so pleasant when she went to our office and gave me three cuties (and all of them are grey! My fav color!) plus a NYC iconic tee. I’ve posted them in my Instagram before.

The other one was from Rufina. What she brought for me was a little special, I got David Beckham’s book!. We chatted through Whatsap a day before she left London and asked me what did I want? I thought an Union Jack cap was cute enough for me until I remembered that I wanted to add Beckham’s biography on my book collections (I’m gonna post about that book separately, there is so many iconic pics of Beckham worth to share. Definitely). So I asked her if she didn’t mind to get it for me and I would pay later. After she returned and Whatsap me again that she would send my souvenirs (and for my flatmates as well, plus chocolates for entire managers in office) she said “no, never mind to pay back”. Oh she’s definitely too-kind :).

Pardon for the last ‘trying-to-look-cute-yet-I-looked-ridiculous’ selfie of me :P.

There is a little ‘thing’ I love from souvenirs. When I get something from my kind mates, or when I bring something for my mates like this, souvenirs could be ‘simply little things’ that remind you and me to those people. Cause someday when you aren’t around them anymore, at least, there is sweet memory of kindness you used to share with. I always believe that.

The End of Quick Jaunt

O M G, it’s already nine of March and I just had one post for this blog? Had no idea why I’m bloody lazy lately. Yikes. Hopefully this could be a good start to post another. Hopefully :)

This post is an end of this and this.

In our last day I’ve told my sister that I really wanted to visit Potato Head in the afternoon. Before that, we decided to check-out from hotel at 9am and went straight to Beachwalk again. To be honest it was my idea :P yup just because I wanted to get some pieces of Topman there (No, just because Topman hasn’t opened yet in my own city :( and a little secret of me : I love Topman!!). After I got some pieces home, we sat down in Nanny’s Pavilion for too-early-snacks, sweet for my sister and I chose sour and crispy fried calamary. Oh, the waffle my sister chose was such a guilty pleasure. Here some iPhone snaps from our too-early-snack-time.

If you still remember that I and my sister wanted to have lunch at ‘Warung Itali’ on day 3 and failed, finally we went there again in our last day. I tried their lasagna, with stir-fried mushroom and slices of baked potato. It wasn’t bad for an affordable Italian food though yet I wish we had longer time to spend to try their heavenly pastas. Just an iPhone picture from Warung Itali (my sister didn’t order anything, just a bottle of Sprite! can’t you imagine :P).

WarungItaliBali

After Warung Itali we went straight to Potato Head Beach Club, one of the happening-cool-beach-club in Bali right now. It was one of main place I wanted to enjoy in Bali after Rock Bar. I don’t want you to call me a cool kid (haha) by spent time there, don’t get me wrong. I just wanted to see the architecture of Potato Head, plenty old vintage windows arranged beautifully as the landmark, designed by Andra Matin and the vibes of the beach club itself. We really should take lunch than just some sweets, it was because we had flight to go home by 4pm so we didn’t spend too long at Potato Head. We just ordered sweets apart of fries, chocolate milkshake and orange juice, it was chocolate mousse called ‘Valrhona chocolate mousse with sea salt caramel and chocolate chilli ice cream’ (ugh long name, it was for me) and an exotic mango…something something (in fact, I couldn’t remember the name what was my sister ordered :P). There was vanilla ice cream with mango cream and lychee foams (??? O gosh I had bad description, pardon me :P). Conclusion : The sweets were yummy indeed, price talked by itself. Coming there by 1pm in the afternoon wasn’t bad to enjoy the vibes, wish I had more days in Bali I wanted to enjoy a sunset and an evening there. Really. Oh they have different classes of order though, If you really want to enjoy the vibe in the front space where you can enjoy the swimming pool and the beautiful beach, you have to order minimum $60 if I’m not wrong :). Some snaps from Potato Head.

Inspirations

Inspirations

I can’t even lie that I’m officially addicted to Instagram and the best thing from that is I can find so many inspirations from so many many talented photographers outside there. Daily!. O really, yes really, they are beyond awesome. I can’t even speak when I found Pei Ketron (I’m going to post about her :))) She’s beyond crazzzzy brilliant photographer I heart!) after I found Alice Gao (No secret that I’m among of her fans :) iPhone picture I took this morning, above, is #inspiredbyalicegao :)).

As a person who still learning, it’s such a simply joy finding some inspirations through the air. Since I started my Tumblr, I found easily Instagramers’s wowed site I’ve followed along. Here some my favorites you should put attention too like I do :

The easiest way to learn photography is to pay attention to them and keep shooting with your own camera, afterwards, keep learning and find your own style :)

Aw did I mention that those sites contain wowwide photographs? with clean and crisp background (dreamy blog that I always love so much!) Yihaa, you eyes will be pampered!

Happy Friday folks!

Azis.

Chocofast

Confession : I’ve tried making my own chocolate sauce since my Nutella had finished. So two days ago I decided making choco sauce from cocoa powder, butter, full cream milk, and sugar. I was pleased with the fact that it looked as good as how it tasted. Dark and it wasn’t too sweet. Then, I kept inside my fridge after I abandoned for yesterday morning shoot. Then, this morning when I found the sauce became a little bit thicker, I added small hot water and full cream milk (again). Unfortunately the water made the chocolate became lighter and aqueous. Well, I think I should take a pastry class someday :P

Oh, here some choco-breakfast scene this morning.

Oats

Oats is a simply-yummy-breakfast kind of people can cook easily. When I have very short time to prepare my breakfast (apart of “I have poor ingredients in my fridge” statement) oats can be the best choice to be cooked. To be honest, I had no intention before to snap “my-breakfast-was-only-oats(!)” that morning but, when I realized the morning light was quite bright + a-second-quick-moment when I opened one page in food magazine and found a matching tone with the blueberry and my new kitchen towel = I got 67 pictures I can add on my collection :)

I think I forgot to add fresh banana on top (“poor ingredients in my fridge” was the correct reason, lol!)

P.S. I had the same breakfast this morning minus blueberry. Oats I cook is no sugar, I always love to sprinkle a pinch of sugar on top. In case you need inspirations to create breakfast from oats, open this site and enjoy your single morning!

Greyish Still Life

Just wanted to pop-in a bit from food post. One day in the afternoon I ran away from my overload-brain-works and played along with my wrist watch. Catching an afternoon light and grey wall I heart in my office, design book and a bottle of Dr.Vranjes as a prop. I could say like I learned instant Still-Life study that noon.

I love the grey all over these pictures, from the wall, the watch, and the dark grey of that paper!
